Gas Safe Register(GSR)

The legally required register for gas engineers in Great Britain, which replaced CORGI in 2009. Every engineer carries an ID card — the back lists the specific appliance types they are qualified for, which is the half most people never check.

Landlord Gas Safety Record(CP12)

The annual safety check a landlord must obtain for every gas appliance and flue in a rented property, with a copy to tenants within 28 days. Named after the old CORGI form number and still universally called a CP12.

ACS Assessment(ACS)

The Accredited Certification Scheme competence assessment an engineer re-sits every five years to stay registered. Separate certificates cover boilers, cookers, fires and commercial work — registration alone does not mean qualified for your appliance.

Immediately Dangerous(ID)

The classification for an appliance posing an immediate risk to life. The engineer must disconnect it with your permission, or report it to the gas emergency service if you refuse. "At Risk" (AR) is the lesser grade — dangerous, but not immediately so.
