Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TradeMatch UK website at tradematch.uk and related services (the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

TradeMatch UK Ltd ("TradeMatch", "we", "us") is a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

2. The Platform

TradeMatch operates a digital marketplace that connects homeowners seeking trade services with verified tradespeople. We are an intermediary and do not directly provide trade services. Contracts for work are formed between the homeowner and the tradesperson.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete information and keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and must keep your password confidential.

4. Homeowner Obligations

Homeowners must provide accurate job descriptions and respond to quotes in a timely manner. You agree not to use the Platform for unlawful purposes or to post misleading job listings. TradeMatch reserves the right to remove any listing that breaches these Terms.

5. Tradesperson Obligations

Tradespeople must maintain valid qualifications, insurance and registrations as declared during the vetting process. You must provide accurate quotes, honour agreed timelines and comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations including health and safety requirements.

6. Payments

Where secure payment is used, funds are held in escrow by our payment provider and released upon confirmation of job completion. TradeMatch is not responsible for payments made directly between homeowners and tradespeople outside the Platform.

7. Reviews

Reviews must be honest, fair and based on genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are defamatory, fraudulent or in breach of these Terms. Tradespeople may respond to reviews publicly through their profile.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TradeMatch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you to TradeMatch in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Termination does not affect obligations arising before the date of termination.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
