Some company listings on TradeMatch were not created by the company they name. This page explains exactly where that data came from, what we do and do not show, the lawful basis we rely on, and how to get a listing removed. We list a small number of UK trade companies using only their entry on the Companies House public register: the registered company name, the town of the registered office, and a trade category derived from published SIC codes. Nothing else. No reviews, no ratings, no contact details, no photos. Homeowners cannot message an unclaimed listing and we earn nothing from one.

We do not buy data from brokers. We do not scrape LinkedIn, other directories, or your website. We do not guess. If a field is not in the register, we leave it empty rather than infer it — which is why an unclaimed listing has no website link and no logo, even when the company obviously has both.
We only list companies whose register entry is active. Dissolved companies are excluded.
The absence of reviews is not an oversight. Inventing or implying a rating for a business that never opted in would be a breach of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and we treat it as a hard prohibition in the code, not a preference.
We rely on legitimate interests under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f). The interest is straightforward: a marketplace with an empty directory is useless to the homeowners it exists to serve, and a registered trade company generally benefits from being findable. We balanced that against the interests of the companies listed, and the balance is the reason this page describes such a narrow listing: public register data only, no personal data, no contact details, no reviews, no messaging, no revenue, and removal on request without conditions.
You have the right to object to this processing at any time. If you object, we remove the listing — we will not weigh it up and get back to you.
Our ICO registration as a data controller is in progress and is not yet complete. We would rather state that plainly here than leave it unsaid. It does not change any of your rights described on this page, and it does not change how we handle a removal request.
There is no form to fill in, no account to create, and no retention offer. We will not contact you again about the listing.

Your company appears because it is on the Companies House public register, which is published under the Companies Act 2006 section 1078. We did not buy your data, and we did not obtain it from any third-party broker.

No, and we never will on an unclaimed listing. Reviews on TradeMatch can only be left by a verified homeowner who has completed and paid for a job through the platform. An unclaimed listing has no reviews, no star rating and no scores of any kind.
No. Unclaimed listings carry no message button and receive no leads. We earn no revenue from an unclaimed listing.
Email [email protected] from any address, telling us the company name. We will remove the listing from the site as soon as we process your request, and permanently delete the record within 30 days. We will not ask you to justify the request, and we will not email you to talk you out of it.
Right now, you cannot — and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Claiming needs us to prove that the person claiming really represents the company, and we have not finished building that. Until we have, unclaimed listings are read-only. If you want your listing removed in the meantime, email [email protected].
